There has been a ton of debate as to if the Bruins will re-sign Jake DeBrusk with his inconsistency issues despite been crucial for them in the playoffs.
DeBrusk seems to have many teams interested in him including the New York Rangers. It seems like the Rangers have given up of former 2nd overall pick Kaapo Kakko and would sign DeBrusk to replace him.
"Trading Kaapo Kakko this summer is a no-brainer move for Rangers."
- New York Post
If Kaako ends up being available for a trade, there might be some interest for Sweeney to pick him up as he has proven he can score in the NHL with a 41 point season 2 years ago but has not been given the right opportunities in NY.
