Assistant GM Awarded Promotion by Boston Bruins

Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff reported the update:

Gold, aged 43, is in his eighth season with the Bruins, having been appointed Assistant GM in 2019 after working as the Director of Legal Affairs since 2015.

According to Bruins Network on Twitter, it appears that Gold was essentially overseeing operations in Providence already, with Don Sweeney acting as the "de facto" GM.

The real question is whether this move by Boston is a way of preparing him to eventually succeed Sweeney as the general manager.
