Bruins receive season awards ahead of Hurricanes game

With just a few games remaining in the regular season, , the Boston Bruins decided to hand out their season awards to their players ahead of their Carolina Hurricanes match up.

This tradition has been going on for some time and several prominent Bruins received the nod to cap off another great season.


The award for contributions to charity and community endeavors known as the John P Buyck Award went to Linus Ullmark. He Has been involved with the Special Olympics and the Bruins foundation as he built a partnership to help raffle off custom goalie masks. This gesture was able to raise $34,000 towards charity. He also spent many times during the holiday season with hospital visits to spend time with kids.



The Elizabeth Dufresne trophy was awarded to David Pastrnak as it recognized him as the most outstanding player in home games which he has one in 2020 and in 2022. His stats have been fantastic with TD Garden as he has scored 28 goals along with 31 assists for 59 points. Of those goals scored 23 of them or even strength.


Charlie Coyle received the Eddie shore award as he demonstrated exceptional hustle and determination throughout the season. This honor Is tied to legacy season ticket holders which during 78 games, he has scored 25 goals with 33 assists while contributing 18 minutes of ice time on average. Coyle was the winner of this award last year.

And finally, 98.5 the sports hub three stars were given out with third star going to Brad Marchand, second star going to goaltender Jeremy Swayman and first star going to David Pastrnak

Unfortunately, the Bruins were unable to come out with a victory as they lost 4-1 to the Hurricanes. The Bruins are still first in the Atlantic even with the loss as through 79 games they have 107 points.
