On Monday, the Western Hockey League announced that Swift Current Broncos' goalie Reid Dyck has been honored as the Giuseppe WHL Goaltender of the Week, for the week ending March 31, 2024.

Dyck has clinched the award for the third time this season and was also celebrated as the WHL Goaltender of the Month in February.

In his first appearance in the WHL playoffs, the Boston Bruins prospect achieved a 2-0-0-0 record, showcasing a 1.50 goals-against average and a .954 save percentage, including a shutout.

The Swift Current Broncos marked their much-awaited return to the WHL Playoffs for the first time since their Ed Chynoweth Cup victory in 2018, on March 29. Facing a barrage of challenging shots, including an outstanding save against Will Sharpe, Dyck successfully defended against four Lethbridge power plays and blocked 19 shots in the last period. His performance, featuring three critical saves during a 6-on-5 situation to secure a 33-save shutout, earned him the first star of the game.

In Game 2 against the Hurricanes, who sought redemption, Leo Braillard scored first. However, Dyck maintained his composure, making 29 saves on 32 shots, securing a 4-3 victory before a crowd of nearly 3,000 at the InnovationPlex in Swift Current.

Dyck's regular season record stood at 25-7-2-0, with a 2.70 goals-against average, a .911 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Hailing from Winkler, M.B., Dyck was chosen 183rd overall by the Boston Bruins in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

Looking ahead, the Broncos aim for a decisive 3-0 series lead against Lethbridge. Game 3 is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. MST on April 2 at the Enmax Centre.
